As a resident of the Town of Comox, I am often struck by how lucky I am to live in such a beautiful, friendly, and special place. While some degree of change is inevitable, I believe that Comox must responsibly manage and strategically respond to the pressures to change the Town’s character. Council’s approach must be informed by what the Town’s residents want and choices that will carry us sustainably into the future. I am running for Comox Council because I believe that my education, experience and passion for public service position me as someone who can help to steward our town in a responsible and equitable way.
My priorities for building a resilient Comox include: planning for affordable and innovative housing while conserving the community’s character; supporting arts and culture, local businesses, sustainable urban forest management, youth recreation, and inclusive spaces; and managing the Town’s finances responsibly.
Priorities:
- Affordable and sustainable housing solutions
- Improving environmental preparedness
- Responsibly closing the Town’s revenue gap
- Promoting arts and culture
- Building recreational spaces for youth
- Preserving our community’s unique character
- Supporting local and Canadian businesses
